BOZEMAN – A Pacific storm system is passing through the Pacific NW, Idaho, and Montana Wednesday afternoon and evening. The storm is producing mostly mountain snow showers across Montana with the best chance for accumulating snow along the MT/ID state line.

Mountain passes could be impacted by this storm especially Lookout, Lolo, and Lost Trail passes. Local mountain passes could see light snow tonight into Thursday morning. Big Sky to West Yellowstone down into Island Park, ID will have a higher probability for snow tonight into Thursday.

The other side effect with this pattern is local strong wind gusts in high wind prone areas like Livingston. In fact, Livingston is under a WIND ADVISORY now through Thursday morning. Sustained wind 30 to 40 mph and peak gusts at times up to 60 mph are possible.
