DILLON - A 160-acre wildfire continues to burn west of Dillon Monday.

Firefighters have the Bon Accord Fire, burning in a wooded area north of Bannack, about 30 percent contained.

The fire started Saturday from a lightning strike.

Two hot spot crews and air support are fighting the fire, but weather conditions have caused the fire to grow over the weekend.

“We thought we had a good handle on part of it and then we had a downburst that came out of a thunderstorm that spotted across a road. And then we had a significant wind shift and it pushed the fire the other direction," said DNRC Fire Management Officer Don Copple. "We didn't have enough resources right on scene at that time to get a handle on it when it was smaller."

No structures are threatened by this fire.
