Cold continues this weekend

BOZEMAN – Through the weekend a few disturbances will bring scattered areas of snow across Montana. The first disturbance will arrive Friday evening with mostly higher mountain snow showers. Second disturbance will arrive Sunday. This weak system will have a slightly better chance for snow showers both over the mountains and down into the valleys.

Clear skies Friday morning along with snow on the ground produced very cold morning lows. Numerous reporting stations in SW Montana fell below zero Friday morning. Temperatures will be cold again Saturday evening but at least there will be some clouds aloft which should help temperatures stay above zero for most, not all, reporting stations locally.

Next week temperatures will slowly warm up but that will also come with increasing snow showers Tuesday evening through Thursday. Accumulating snow is likely and could produce some travel hazards as we welcome in the new year.
