Wintry travel Friday night and Saturday

BUTTE – Storm system lifting NE through Utah, Wyoming and South Dakota over the next 24 hours will bring wrap around moisture bands through most of Southern Montana Friday night into Saturday. Travel impacts are likely for I-90 from Homestake Pass to Bozeman and Bozeman Pass and continuing East through Billings and far Eastern Montana.

Snow is likely Friday night into Saturday morning with a few scattered snow showers by Saturday afternoon.

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY:

The National Weather Service has a Winter Weather Advisory up for Beaverhead, Madison, Gallatin, and Park counties of SW Montana through 5 am Saturday morning. Winter Weather Advisories are up through 5 pm Saturday Livingston to Billings.

Snow accumulations: 2″ – 4″ valleys and 4″ – 8″ for mountain passes. I-90 will be impacted.

BOZEMAN: LOW: 9°; HIGH SATURDAY: 21°. Snow is likely for Bozeman Friday afternoon through Saturday morning. Look for 1″ – 4″ of snow and wet roads turning icy after sunset Friday. Snow should diminish by Saturday evening. Colder temperatures through the weekend.

BUTTE: LOW: 4°; HIGH SATURDAY: 25°. Scattered is possible for Butte and areas west of the divide tonight into Saturday morning. Snow accumulations of 1″ – 3″ is possible. Travel impacts are likely with snow-covered and icy roads by Saturday morning.

DILLON: LOW: 3°; HIGH SATURDAY: 20°. Colder tonight and Saturday. Watch for scattered snow showers Friday night into Saturday morning with 1″ – 3″ possible. Dry and cold Saturday night into Sunday.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 6°; HIGH SATURDAY: 29°. Periods of snow Friday night into Saturday. Snow accumulations of 2″ – 4″ is possible with higher totals inside Yellowstone National Park.
