BUTTE – 3rd snow storm of the week impacting Bozeman and Bozeman pass Friday afternoon into Friday evening. Snow accumulations will continue through early evening with an additional 1″ – 2″ possible. Your Friday evening commute will be a slow go with snow continuing to fall and temperatures dropping below freezing after sunset. Look for snow covered and icy roads.

The National Weather Service continues a Winter Weather Advisory for Gallatin, Broadwater and Meagher counties in SW Montana through 5 pm Friday evening.

Steady snow will continue to produce snow covered and icy roads with lower visibility at times. Travel conditions should improve overnight but gusty winds in wind prone areas could continue to produce localized areas of blowing snow and lower visibility through the weekend.

An Alberta clipper will drop through Montana Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. Temperatures should warm up ahead of this storm this weekend and could reach the upper 30s to mid 40s both Saturday and Sunday.

A strong cold front will pass through the state from North to South Sunday evening and with it colder temperatures, gusty winds and increasing snow with accumulations likely for valleys and over mountains and passes.

Travel impacts are likely Sunday night and for the Monday morning commute.

BOZEMAN: LOW: 21°; HIGH SATURDAY: 37°. Mostly cloudy Friday night with a few flurries. Patchy valley fog is possible by Saturday morning. Saturday will be mostly cloudy with a few flurries mostly over area mountain ranges. SW winds to 15 mph and gusting at times to 30 mph could produce some blowing snow issues.

BUTTE: LOW: 11°; HIGH SATURDAY: 37°. Tonight partly cloudy to cloudy with an isolated snow shower early. Patchy valley fog is possible by Saturday morning. Saturday should be mostly cloudy with a few mountain flurries and breezy.

DILLON: LOW: 16°; HIGH SATURDAY: 40°. Partly cloudy and cold overnight. Saturday look for variable clouds and isolated mountain snow showers. SW winds are likely Saturday afternoon 10 to 20 mph and gusting to 30 mph.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: LOW: 4°; HIGH SATURDAY: 28°. Light snow will diminish overnight and with partial clearing by morning temperatures will drop close to zero. Cloudy Saturday with a slight chance for a few snow showers. Increasing snow and wind is coming Sunday afternoon.
