BUTTE –  No change to the current weather pattern as strong High pressure continues to produce dry weather and cold morning lows with areas of early morning fog.

This blocking ridge will begin to break down mid-week and a pattern change will develop Thursday through Saturday. Several changes are coming. First a cold shot of Arctic air will clip Montana east of the divide Thursday Saturday and a warm moist pacific storm will lift up into Montana Thursday through Saturday producing widespread snow and travel impacts.

It’s still a little too early for accurate estimates but most models show valleys could see several inches of snow and mountain passes over 6″ of snow during that 3 day trend. This will likely change as we get closer to the event so look for continued updates over the next couple of days and of course tonight at 5:30 pm and 10 pm on KBZK.
