Outlining snow potential for Friday in SW Montana

Today’s Forecast:
Your Thursday will bring plenty of sunshine to start with highs in the middle 40s.  The wind will stay out of the southwest between 5-10 mph.

BOZEMAN: High – 46; Low – 25. Mild temperatures with clouds building for the afternoon and the evening.

BUTTE: High – 44; Low – 25. Nice morning temperatures will bring comfortable conditions for the afternoon.  Highs are expected to top out in the middle 40s with clouds building late in the afternoon.

DILLON: High – 47; Low – 25. Temperatures will stay mild with a mix of clouds and sunshine for the afternoon and evening.

WEST YELLOWSTONE: High – 37; Low – 15. Temperatures will remain chilly but you should expect plenty of sunshine for the day.

FRIDAY’S SNOW POTENTIAL: 
A cold front is expected to drop into the area around the noon hour on Friday.  The cold front will bring bands of snow to the area.  Most of the models have been fairly consistent bringing anywhere between 1”-4” of snow to the valleys of southwest Montana by the early evening.  Mountains and passes are expected to see between 4”-8” of new snow.  Skies are expected to clear quickly Friday night and early Saturday which could cause icy roads early Saturday morning.
