This Week in Fish and Wildlife: Kids to Parks Day set for Lewis and Clark Caverns

Montana State Parks will host a Kids to Parks Day event at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park on Saturday, May 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tamara Beal, Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park Americorp member, joins Chet to preview the event.

The Kids to Parks Day was created to connect kids to their local, state and national parks.

All activities will take place in the group use area of the campground. The event is free thanks to all the organizations donating their time. Blue Smoke BBQ food truck will also be at the park.

The event schedule:

  • 10:30 am – Junior Ranger program
  • 12 pm – Lewis and Clark Among the Grizzlies program
  • 1:30 pm – Bear Aware program
  • 3 pm – Guided Hike

 

Throughout the event, skull identification, noxious week backpack coloring, amazing anthropods, macro-invertebrate mayhem, energy and recycling, wind turbines, solar system, flower ID, botany games, bird migration challenge and hunt for invertebrates activities will also take place.
