Gateside Cafe offers new options to people flying out of Helena Regional Airport

The next time you fly in or out of the Helena Regional Airport you will notice things look a lot different.

Construction is finished on the remodeling of the inside of the airport terminals, and you now have an option for food and drink once you're passed the TSA security check point.

The owner of the Smokejumper Station has added, Gateside Cafe.

Right now, since flight traffic is down 80%, they're only serving grab-and-go options, but owner Paul Mabie says once foot traffic inside the airport picks back up again, they will be serving all kinds of options.

He says, "We will kind of have a full farm-to-table concept up there with artisanal pizzas, homemade sandwiches, featuring local ingredients, craft cocktails featuring Gulch Distillers and local beers, Blackfoot Brewing Company and Ten Mile and Lewis and Clark. Really trying to showcase the best Helena has to offer."

Paul says later on down the road, as the state moves into more phased reopening he hopes to be able to rent out the cafe space for VIP events.
