The Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife & Parks is working with the Madison-Gallatin Chapter of Trout Unlimited and Northwestern Energy to replace and old foot bridge at the Cobblestone Fishing Access Site on the Madison River. The new construction will replace the current foot bridge over Darlington Ditch.
According to Jay Pape from FWP work began on August 5th and will be wrapping up within the next few days. The new bridge sits higher above the water line and is placed on concrete posts to give it more stability. Unlike the old bridge, this one will also have railings.
