UPDATE: The Montana Department of Transportation said Beartooth Pass was reopened late Thursday morning.
The Montana Department of Transportation said Thursday morning Beartooth Pass was closed at the state line due to weather conditions.
Adverse weather conditions on the top of the pass and down the Wyoming side forced the closure, according to a press release.
Travelers can go from Red Lodge to the state line but must turn around at that point and return to Red Lodge, the release states.
Travelers are advised to watch for rapidly changing road conditions including snow, ice, high winds, and drifting snow.
