GREAT FALLS – For the month of May, the Children’s Museum of Montana is collecting donations to send care packages overseas.

Some of the items they are looking for include beef jerky, protein bars, cotton socks, sunblock, and books.

The museum came up with the idea because organizers want these men and women to know that the community appreciates what they do.

“We have little collection boxes that we are getting around town. We dropped one off yesterday at Home Depot. I believe Wells Fargo is going to have one for us. It is one of those times where it does not take much to give something that really means a lot,” said Sherrie Neff, executive director of the Children’s Museum of Montana.

Neff says they are not sure where exactly the packages will be going, but the museum hopes to hear back from the troops who do receive them.
