Stillwater County officials announced Monday the following roads have been closed under emergency conditions due to flooding:

  • North Stillwater Road at Jackstone
  • South Grove Creek
  • Valley Creek Road
  • Rapelje-Molt Road
  • Lower Grove Creek Road
  • Hailstone Road (culvert washed out)
  • Downer Road
  • Wheatbasin Road

Additionally, officials in Park County noted water on roadways in Park County Rural Fire District #1, Dividen Road, Old Yellowstone Trail and Trail Creek. Chico Cemetery Road from the corals to Sage Lodge/ Paradise Valley Fire Station is also channeling significant snowmelt and may be impassable.

Officials say only local traffic should pass through these roads.

At a Monday afternoon emergency meeting held by the Stillwater County Commission and County Disaster and Emergency Services Office, Road & Bridge Supervisor Mark Schreiner said several other county roads have “rough patches” and some bus routes in Rapelje have been altered, emergency management officials reported on their Facebook page.

Multiple culverts have been washed out. Schriener said the Park City, Reed Point and Absarokee are in “pretty good” shape as of right now, but that is expected to change with more moisture forecast for mid-week. Issues in the south county are anticipated.

Residents are encouraged to refrain from driving through any water and to report damage caused by water. Sandbags are available from the county as well, with the first 25 free and .25 cents per bag after that initial 25.
