MISSOULA – Drinking beer through the month of March could help protect Montana forests.
For the sixth year in a row, Rainier beer will plant a tree for every 24 red tabs that are turned back into the Washington-based brewery as part of their Tabs for Trees program.
Bars and restaurants around Missoula have collection jars and if you can’t find a place to drop off your tabs you can mail them to Rainer.
They hope to plant 20,000 trees this year, with the goal of planting 5,000 of them in Montana.
Rainier says it’s a great program that they are excited to be a part of.
“We love the program, it gets us involved. I’m actually driving down to Portland tomorrow to do an actual tree planting. So in addition to the Arbor Day Foundation planting trees, we are going around to our local communities and doing tree-planting events as well,” Rainier Field Marketing Manager Kurt Stream said. “We just love sharing the experience with our loyal customers and we have a great time doing it.”
Rainier has helped plant over 100,000 trees across the northwest since 2014.
