Whitefish firefighters made a dramatic rescue Monday, showing the extra caution we need to take during this cold snap around our lakes, rivers and streams.
The Whitefish Fire Department shared this video showing the “B-shift” crews coming to the rescue of a dog that had gotten into trouble on the ice-choked Whitefish River.
The rescue swimmer manages to work his way to the marooned dog, busting through the ice flow and then lifting the pooch to open water where he can swim back to shore on his own.
