RED LODGE- The Beartooth Highway south of Red Lodge will close for season early Friday morning because of bad weather, according to the Montana Department of Transportation.
The alternate route for travellers headed south toward Cooke City and Yellowstone National Park is Wyoming Highway 296 (Chief Joseph Highway) to U.S. 212 to Cooke City.
The Beartooth Highway is expected to reopen May 24, 2019.
