BUTTE — Merchants in Uptown Butte reported a good holiday shopping season this year.
Some small business owners said they saw plenty of shoppers over the holiday season and credited the city's Shop Local campaign, encouraging people to do their holiday shopping in the Mining City.
Some businesses said they had many out-of-town shoppers as well.
"We had quite a few from Helena and Missoula and Kalispell. Everybody seemed to be, you know, taking a drive over and wanting to shop for something different,” said Cheryl Ackerman of gift shop Butte Stuff.
Butte's Christmas Stroll also helped promote holiday shopping at Uptown businesses.
