BUTTE — From 2-4 pm this Sunday, student-athletes of Butte Central Catholic will be calling Butte Central alumni in a nationwide phonathon. Hosted by the Maroon Activities Association, the purpose of the phonathon will be to raise funds for the activities and athletic programs that have been impacted by the pandemic.
“You know we’re really proud of our athletic programs and we’re just going into our winter season now with wrestling and boys and girls basketball. We know we’re not going to be having crowds, it would be very limited if we do which means we don’t have concession revenue and all the things we do to fund our sports.” said Don Peoples, President of Butte Central Catholic Schools.
The phonathon will be held in the Maroon Activities center, each individual will be spaced out 50 to 60 feet apart in order to maintain social distancing. There will also be a live broadcast of the event on the Butte Central education foundation Facebook page as well.
