A 33-year-old man who identifies himself as "Jesus Chris Quinn" appeared before Gallatin Justice Court Judge Bryan Adams Monday morning after being charged with assault with a weapon.
Court documents say the man was kicked out of the Crystal Bar on Main Street for unknown reasons.
A bar employee called police after he said the man returned to the bar threatening employees with a bow and arrow just after 1 a.m. on Sunday.
Judge Adams imposed certain restrictions, which the man claims conflicted with his religion.
"When you guys say illegal drugs, part of our religion is we take sacred sacraments with plant medicines that your country deems drugs. So like, that's how we pray," he told the judge.
"I assume any illegal drugs. If you have any prescriptions or you're allowed by law or statues to do that then that's not a problem. No use of alcohol," Judge Adams explained.
"We don't use that. I was that night, but we don't use that," the defendant said.
Court documents refer to the man as 'John Doe' because the name Jesus Chris Quinn came up as invalid in all 50 states and he refused to be fingerprinted.
His bond was set at $50,000 and his next court appearance will be on July 2nd.
