BILLINGS - An injured Billings police officer was released from the hospital Wednesday, the department said in a press release.
Officer Jeremiah Adams was seriously injured Saturday when he was struck by a vehicle while standing outside his patrol car. The 14-year-old driver was arrested and is being held on a possible charge of attempted murder.
Adams, who works with a K9 partner named Susan, underwent surgery to reconstruct his left leg, including the placement of a metal rod, plates and screws, according to the press release.
Lt. Brandon Wooley said Adams is expected to return to full duty after five to six months of recovery.
"K9 Susan was not injured in the incident and will remain at Officer Adams' side while he recovers," Wooley said in the press release. "Also, it's likely she will enjoy some couch time and lots of belly rubs for the next few months."
