BUTTE — High School football returned to Butte Thursday evening as Butte Central High hosted the Frenchtown Broncos in a very physical game on Bob Green Field at Montana Tech.
Most of the first half was fought to a defensive stalemate, but it was the Broncos who scored first when Wyatt Hayes connected with Brandon Finley for six late in the second quarter.
The Maroon offense responded with a little trickery as Luke Garrison completed a touchdown pass to Konnor Pochervina. With both teams unable to convert the point after, the first half ended noted up at 6 each.
But the second half of the game belonged to the broncos as Hayes took one into the endzone himself on the keeper and completed the two-point conversion.
Butte Central would only put up one more touchdown, as Frenchtown racked up the score for the win at 43 to 12.
