BUTTE — Long-time Pekin Noodle Parlor owner Danny “Wong” Tam has died at 86. Ding Kuen Tam, known in Butte as Danny Wong, immigrated to the U.S. at age 14. He worked in San Francisco, before coming to Butte to work as a chef at the Pekin on Main Street.
His great grandfather sold the Pekin to him in the 1950s, where he continued to run the famous chop suey restaurant everyday until last year.
Danny Wong raised five children with his late-wife, Sharon.
