BUTTE - Three war veterans from Butte were recognized for their military service and their service at home Monday morning.
Representative Greg Gianforte presented veterans Tom Goyette , Roger Knoell and Neil Neary with the Montana Congressional Veteran Commendation for their military service and their service to the community in civilian life at the American Legion Hall in Butte.
“I think it's great, it keeps the community together, keeps people together, especially if you served in your youth. As far as Butte is concerned, I was gone for 20 years, I came back, I can't do enough for this community,” said Knoell.
The three men were each given a flag that flew over the U.S. Capitol.
