Headframe Spirits in Butte is a good place to get the hair of the dog. In fact, a picture of the dog is right on the bottle.

The Butte distillery is teaming up with Butte’s animal shelter by putting pictures of dogs that are up for adoption right on the label.

“We’re trying to amplify the voices of our voiceless four-legged little buddies,” said Headframe Spirits owner Courtney McKee.

Butte photographer Alycia Carriger is happy to volunteer her time to photograph the dogs.

“The highlight of it is when the come running down the hall for picture day, they’re really excited to get their picture taken. They don’t know they’re getting their picture taken, but they act like they know that they are and they get excited,” said Carriger.

“We think that the definition of success is our ability to elevate all of us, not just some of us,” said McKee.

Highlands Veterinary Hospital in Butte donated the funds to pay for the labels. Headframe Spirits is also raising money for Safe Space, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Butte and the Big Hole River Foundation.
