BUTTE, Mont. – The non-profit group that built Butte’s new carousel is holding a major fundraiser Saturday to keep it spinning.
The Spirit of Columbia Gardens will host its gala Saturday evening at Star Lanes bowling alley from 5 to 10 p.m.
The group hopes to raise about $40,000 that will go for maintenance costs and other expenses for the facility that opened at Stodden Park in late June.
“You can come in here and make a donation, you can mail it in at P.O. Box 4133. We’re a non-profit organization, so it’s tax deductible and everything helps. A dollar helps; it doesn’t have to be a large donation,” said Carousel Manager Ed Curran.
It took organizers 20 years to get the carousel built, and it was funded entirely through donations.
