BUTTE – Repair work to the Butte Courthouse’s front steps is expected to be completed by the end of December.
The $140,000 project to repair the century-old front steps began last month.
Jay Fortune Construction was hired to repair the crumbling foundation under the steps and repave the cracked landing.
“The next phase after this is to polish the concrete slab, then we’ve got to clean up the montanite steps and make it look like it did in 1910,” said Project Manager Justin Fortune.
The public can currently enter the courthouse through the west side door and an ADA entrance in the rear of the building.
