The Helena Women’s Leadership Network hosted a Medical Herb Hike over the weekend.
Dr. Liz Cavin is a licensed naturopathic doctor in Helena. She was invited to lead the group to teach participants how certain plants can be good for your health.
The group met at Dump Gulch Trailhead, and Cavin led them on over a mile hike with stops to describe the health benefits of certain plants or as she describes, “allies in the wilderness.”
“I consider them our allies. They can help us when we are in need. We can use them as medicine when we are out in the wilderness, but we need to respect nature," says Dr. Cavin.
The Women’s Leadership Network hosts these social gatherings with different activities to learn from other women and empower each other.
