Two Laurel men were charged with felony crimes Monday after a four-day string of vandalism that left at least eight vehicles with shattered windows.

Tanner Paul Gritten, 18 and Hayden Joseph Robert Smith, 18, are both charged with criminal mischief or in the alternative, criminal mischief by accountability for allegedly shooting out vehicle windows on the south side of town near Forrest and Yellowstone avenues between Nov. 28 and Dec. 1.

Police say the vandalism caused at least $1,500 in damages to the vehicles.

Court documents state both Gritten and Smith, along with a 15-year-old and 16-year-old, took part in shooting out the windows of several vehicles with pistol BB guns.

After interviews, the four admitted that Smith was driving while Gritten and the two juveniles fired the BB guns.

The court documents did not state what charges the juveniles would face.
