BILLINGS — An 18-year-old man was arrested early Sunday morning following a shooting in Lockwood and a police chase in a stolen vehicle that wound through Billings.
According to Yellowstone County Sheriff Mike Linder, the incident began around 9:40 p.m. on Saturday when law enforcement received a call of a shooting on Canary Avenue in the Lockwood area. Deputies arrived to find a male with life-threatening injuries from multiple gunshot wounds.
According to Linder, the initial investigation points to two males in the area attempting to break into cars when they were confronted by a vehicle owner at the Canary Avenue scene. The suspects ran but returned minutes later and shot the vehicle owner.
Devon J. Isaacson, 19, was found in Lockwood and was believed to be one of the two attempting to break into vehicles. Isaacson was arrested for outstanding warrants.
A Sheriff's Deputy later located a stolen vehicle believed to be involved in the shooting heading into Billings. When heading west on Broadwater Avenue, the deputy reports that someone in the vehicle was shooting at her.
The driver of the suspect vehicle was later determined to be Ashtin Glen, 18, after Glen crashed into an unoccupied vehicle near Seventh Street West and Broadwater Avenue and fled on foot before being located under a parked car.
Glen was arrested shortly after midnight Sunday after being treated for an injury. According to Linder, Glen was booked into the Yellowstone County Detention Facility on two counts of attempted homicide.
The Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation.
This latest incident marks the sixth shooting in the Billings area in the last 15 days. Five people have died due to gun violence during that stretch.
Roxie Zeiler lives in the area where police were searching for Glen. She was not home at the time but watched from her Ring camera as law enforcement ran through her yard.
"I got scared because I didn’t know what was going on,” Zeiler said. “It’s scary to think of all of this that’s going on, and such young kids is what’s sad.”
