Lloyd Wallace Youpee of Poplar, who admitted sexually abusing a child, was sentenced in federal court in Great Falls on Monday.
Youpee, 93 years old, pleaded guilty in January to abusive sexual contact.
The prosecution said in court documents that the sexual contact occurred on or about February 2018 to December 2018 in Poplar on the Fort Peck Indian Reservation. Youpee had sexual contact with the victim, who was under the age of 12.
Youpee initially denied touching the victim but then admitted to the sexual assault. During an interview with investigators, Youpee indicated that he did not want kids to be around him while he is drinking. He told investigators that he knows how he is, clarifying that he likes sex.
U.S. District Judge Brian Morris presided and sentenced Youpee to four years in prison followed by five years of supervised release, according to U. S. Attorney Kurt Alme.
