BUTTE — A Butte resident was shot in the hand as he attempted to stop two men who had entered a neighbor’s car about 7:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of Quincy Street, according to an eyewitness. The man who fired the gun was wrestled to the ground by neighbors and held there until police arrived. The other suspect ran from the scene.
The shooter is in custody in Butte Tuesday morning.
Butte Sheriff Ed Lester confirmed police are investigating the incident.
The witness said the victim who was shot in the hand is in good condition and no other injuries were reported.
