Record lows Monday and forecast lows for Tuesday

BUTTE – The last 2 days have been so cold that numerous record lows were shattered and a few all-time record lows were shattered locally and across the state of Montana.

Starting with Monday morning lows. Almost every reporting station in SW Montana has a new record-setting cold low. Here is a list of several reporting stations locally (Bozeman MSU will report after 4 pm).

A couple of notable records in SW Montana set all-time March record lows one in Belgrade (Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport) and the other in Elk Park north Butte. The Elk Park temperature is a possible new all-time record low for the entire state of Montana in the month of March. Data is preliminary and hasn’t been verified officially. There could be additional all-time record lows to report and we are waiting for official data to be reported to NOAA and local media.

I’m sure everyone is waiting to see if Monday night and Tuesday morning will be as cold. The short answer is no. But we are likely to drop below zero once again by Tuesday morning. In the above on demand STORMTracker video forecast I will update the forecast lows for SW Montana. Updates and last minute tweaks to this forecast will be available at 5:30 pm and fresh updates tonight at 10 pm on KBZK.
