BUTTE – A construction crew ruptured a large natural gas line in Butte this evening causing traffic to be blocked off in the area of Continental Drive.
NorthWestern Energy reports that an 8 to 12-inch natural gas line was damaged by the crew working in the area of Continental Drive and East Second Street. Responders from NorthWestern Energy are on scene assessing the damage and traffic is being rerouted around that area. Crews will likely find the damaged area and try to cap off the leak.
No evacuations have been issued as of 6 p.m.
