GREAT FALLS – The body of the young woman recovered from the Missouri River in Great Falls on Monday has been identified as Brittney Roberts, 21, of Absarokee.
Cascade County Sheriff Bob Edwards said the State Crime Lab in Missoula used dental records to determine the woman’s identity.
Roberts was found in the river at Ryan Dam by dam employees on Monday afternoon.
The official cause and manner of death are still being investigated.
Roberts left behind an 18-month-old son and a fiancee.
Roberts was last seen on April 23 when witnesses reported seeing her in the water.
They said they tried to help her, but the current was too strong.
The Roberts family moved to Montana from North Carolina when Brittney was 11.
She moved to Great Falls late last year to join her fiancee.
