BUTTE – The temporary homeless shelter in Uptown Butte received a generous donation Thursday.
The Butte Elk’s Club presented a $5,000 donation to Action Inc.’s temporary shelter located on North Main Street today as part of the club’s annual charity work. The shelter was opened this winter after the Butte Rescue Mission’s homeless shelter was forced to close last year.
“This year is the 150th anniversary of the Elks, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, so we were able to give a little more this year than we have in the past,” said Frank Snyder with the Butte Elk’s Club.
The Butte Rescue Mission is attempting to reopen its homeless shelter by this fall.
