Randy Michael Chaney was born on May 20, 1953 to William and Lois Chaney in Bozeman, MT. He passed away August 4, 2017 in Belgrade, MT.
Randy graduated high school in 1971 from Manhattan, MT. In 1975 he graduated from Montana State University receiving a B.S. in Business Accounting. Randy travelled extensively throughout his lifetime. He also worked as a non-profit Accountant until his retirement in 2011. He was an active member of many boards within the non-profit community. He was passionate about his work for Open AID Alliance, MT GMTF, WORD, and other amazing organizations. He was most proud of his 32 years of sobriety and his role as a Sponsor within the recovery communities. He was “A friend among friends”.
He is survived by his father, William Chaney (Margaret Townsend Chaney), and his siblings, Ron Chaney (Lani) and Sherry Burdett (Terry). His nephews and nieces include: Lance (Erika), Nicole (Scott), Melanie (Bobby), Adam (Liz), Nick (Devyn), and David (Brandy). He had many amazing nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and extended family who were so important to him. He is also survived by his heart sister, Christine Kolczak (Tracy Hardy), and family.
There will be a gathering to celebrate Randy’s life and friendship on Thursday, August 17, at 4:00 P.M. at Missoula Alliance Church.
