Our beloved brother and uncle, William J. Novack passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 13, 2015. Bill was born on September 21, 1942, in Butte to Joseph and Doreen Novack. He was raised on the East Side and went to Sacred Heart School and then to St. John’s. He was an Altar Boy at both parishes. He worked for his grandfather peeling potatoes in the basement for the infamous Joe’s Pasty Shop.
Bill graduated from boys Central in 1960. He enlisted in the Navy and served aboard the USS Bradford. He was proud because it was the most decorated ship in the Navy. He returned to Butte and worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired and then went to work at the Butte Vo-Tech, when his arthritis became too bad, he the retired. Although he was not the youngest, he was still our baby brother.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, brother-in-law; Pat Coyne, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is survived, missed and loved by his sisters: JoAnn Coyne, Patty (Jim) Becker, nieces and nephews; Chris (Joe) Renz, Pat (Sara Coyne, Jamie (Joe) Patrick, Julie (Brad) Marquart, Mike (Mara)Coyne, Andy (Jailee) Coyne, Scott (Julie) Becker, Shawn Becker, Jim (Dawn) Becker, Josh (Robin) Becker and their families and uncle Matt Nicholls.
Funeral Services will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Duggan Dolan Mortuary. Interment of ashes will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorials may be made the Arthritis Foundation or charity of the donor’s choice.
