Jackson, MS (WAPT) — When employees at the Animal Rescue Fund of Mississippi arrived to work Tuesday, the last thing they expected to see was two puppies tied to a fence with wire.
One of the puppies needed immediate medical care because the wire was wrapped around its leg and had cut through the skin, said ARF director Elizabeth Jackson.
Jackson said the puppies were tied to the gate a little after 10 p.m. Monday. She said that unfortunately, they find dogs abandoned at the shelter on a regular basis.
“Come by during working hours so they aren’t tied up to a gate with wire overnight,” Jackson said. “Anything could have happened to them. They could have choked to death. The dog could have cut his leg off and bled out.”
The puppies were among 10 dogs that the shelter took in on Tuesday, which has put ARF in desperate need of donations. Tap here for more information.
