Shawn Robert Lowe of Missoula will serve a 90-day jail sentence and he will then have to spend close to 20 years on probation for raping two 14-year-old girls.
Prosecutors say Lowe, 23, raped two girls between December of 2009 and August of 2010.
In court papers they state that Lowe dated one of the victims, but she told him she wanted to remain a virgin until marriage.
Lowe is accused of raping another 14 year-old girl who told investigators the only reason she agreed to have sex with Lowe was because she was drunk.
Lowe told the judge in court on Thursday morning that he "messed up big" and that he should have known better.
Prosecutors said although the victims wanted a longer sentence, they agreed with the plea bargain which called for a 20-year Montana State Prison sentence with all but 90 days suspended.
The judge allowed Lowe to spend that 90 days in the Missoula County Detention Center.
Lowe's attorney, Neil Leitch, tells us his client was abused as a child. He also says Lowe has mental disabilities and he felt like he was the same age as the girls when these rapes happened.
Lowe was classified as a tier one sex offender, which is the lowest level, and he will have to go through sex offender treatment once he's out of jail.
