It was the final stage of the Tour de France today. And with most of the spots sealed up already, the ride down the Champs Elysees was more of a celebratory one than anything else. Teejay Van Garderen, the Bozeman native, turned quite a few heads over the 20 stage tour this year. In what was supposed to be a supporting role for Teejay, the 23 year old surpassed his team captain and was made the priority for BMC racing. Teejay finished 5th overall, and captured the white jersey as the top young rider this year. Meawhile Butte's Levi Leipheimer finished 32nd overall. Leipheimer, who opted not to compete in the upcoming Olympic games in order to focus more on the our, couldn't quite break the barrier to get into the top 30. Today's stage winner, out of Great Britain, was Mark Cavendish. And for your overall winner of the 2012 tour de france, it's Bradley Wiggins out of England.
